In One Breath: Kristin Berardi meets Kayleigh Pincott
Double Take is a brand new series that invites artists from across the country to premiere unique collaborative performances. Each pairing features original works by both artists and a set of duet performances, creating space for new innovations, arresting improvisations and a moment to “trade” melodic ideas, in the spirit of the jazz idiom. The Loft transforms into a jazz club with a relaxed atmosphere, welcoming you to kick back and relax and let the magic unfold.
“It’s not every day you hear a vocalist with a warm beautiful tone, extensive jazz vocabulary, pop appeal and magical stage presence. Well, Kristin Berardi has all these elements and so much more. She takes you on a musical journey with every syllable and note. She’s a joy to watch and hear,” Chris Walker, Cassandra Wilson /Al Jarreau’s Music Director.
“Kayleigh Pincott’s first album release is as courageous as it is beautiful. Her compositions and her singing are a breath of fresh air into today’s world. The vocal delivery is very moving,” Kristin Berardi.
Two of Queensland’s finest voices unite to present heartfelt and beautiful original compositions. This special performance unites Kristin Berardi with her former Queensland Conservatorium student Kayleigh Pincott, in a celebration of collaboration, friendship and contemporary jazz. Breath transforms into iridescent vocal melodies, lyric and ideas in this exclusive performance.
