Entering its 14th year, Stonnington Jazz remains a highlight of the national jazz calendar and 2019 will be no exception. The passionate Chelsea Wilson returns as Artistic Director, for a three year appointment.
Chelsea is a vocalist, songwriter, producer, broadcaster and current Board Director of Music Victoria, the peak body representing the Victorian music sector. As an MC and panel moderator, she has appeared at the Melbourne International Jazz Festival, Wangaratta Jazz Festival and will be presenting at the New York Jazz Congress in January 2019.
As a producer Chelsea has delivered events for Melbourne Recital Centre, Federation Square, Melbourne Music Week and previously worked as the former music programmer of Brunswick Music Festival and Coburg Night Market. Chelsea has taken her vocal talents across the world and performed at the Glastonbury Festival and the Jazz Cafe in London. The 2019 Stonnington Jazz program is set to inspire and delight audiences, Chelsea mentions;
“As a musician nothing excites me more than the opportunity to explore new material, different styles and sounds and collaborate with artists from other genres and walks of life. With this in mind I am particularly excited about creating avenues for artists to explore new projects and premier new works.”
With Chelsea’s vision and commitment, the 2019, Stonnington Jazz will not only celebrate the exceptional talent of Australian Jazz musicians, but expand to include events across artistic genres to immerse you in the magic of jazz.
The 2019 program will include:
Outstanding performances by 100% Australian jazz artists

Celebrating many art forms including contemporary dance and visual art
